Date

Spring 2022

What is post traumatic growth? Post traumatic growth (PTG) is a concept that was identified by Tedeschi and Calhoun (1996). It was coined “ to refer to positive personal changes that may result in one’s struggle to deal with trauma and its psychological consequences” (p415). Posttraumatic Growth is possible for many military servicemembers and veterans. This work is extended from my Caritas Coach framework.

NURS 6018 covers an introduction to veteran/ military culture and historical perspectives of war. Exploration of post- traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, suicidality, and effects of psychological health on family and parenting. Issues related to diversity, reintegration, redeployment, health care navigation, and ethics.
